Strategic oversight of all PTO programming and budgeting, liaison between Principal and PTO volunteers, facilitate Board meetings, representing Sprague at town-wide PTO meetings.

Works closely with the president to support the PTO. Ideally this role will transition into a 1 year President role for the 2027-2028 school year.

Responsible for Sprague PTO finances, including vendor invoicing/payments, reimbursements, tax preparation, updates to the Board, annual fund and budget support.

Responsible for recording and disseminating PTO meeting notes.

Produce weekly publication of Sprague Pulse and PTO e-blasts. (30 mins a week all online work)
This role could be shared with one volunteer taking on September - December and the other January - June.
Advisor to Board: Lauren Sargent (previously Wendy Englebardt)
Support the President and Vice President in duties throughout the year.
IT Manager: Mike McDevitt (previously Wendy Englebardt)
Admin for Google Workspace and Wix website accounts
Creative Arts & Sciences: Taryn Arthurs (previously Lakshmi Viswanathan)
Coordinate school-wide and grade-specific programs that support the curriculum, welcoming performers, scientists and authors into the school (ongoing September to June).

Staff Appreciation Team: Carolyn Kornwitz and Casey Warren
Coordinate all staff appreciation events at Sprague. This includes Staff appreciation week (daily lunches, ice cream parties, breakfasts etc.) special monthly celebrations and any event to show our love for our teachers and staff!

Oversee the organization and implementation of Sprague social events like Fall Fest, Skating Party, BINGO, Tubing, Mom and Dads Night Out.

This position focuses on partnering with organizations who donate back a portion of sales to the Sprague PTO.
Yearbook Coordinators: Julie Covino-Vogel, John Agudelo, Melissa McGill
Oversees yearbook creation. Collects photos for yearbook pages, coordinates class photos and review of pages with teachers. Recruits 5th grade parent volunteers to assist in the creation of 5th grade pages.
​METCO Liaison: Kasia Schwarzman
Manage Sprague’s “Family Friend” program that pairs each of our Boston METCO students with a Wellesley student to support strong relationships and connections. Liaise with school adjustment counselor and WPS METCO leadership to support programming. ​

Sprague Cares Chair: Jill Merewitz
This position is responsible for overseeing Sprague's Cares Program, which helps build community through families helping families. In addition to liaising with our school's social worker, this individual will also coordinate with other WPS Cares Chairs to ensure consistency across the district to provide support to families in need. ​New Family Welcome Team:: Leah Cinelli (new role for 2026-2027)
The goal of this team is to welcome new families (Grade 1 - 5) to the Sprague Community, provide direction, and be an active support person as each new family navigates their new school.

SEPAC Rep: (previously Elyssa Benedikt)
The Wellesley Special Education Parents and Advisory Council (PAC) is a district-wide, independent organization of parents and caregivers of children in Wellesley who learn differently. The Sprague representative provides a voice for our school at the PAC monthly meetings. (one hour meeting per month, September - June) Learn more.
Wait Until 8th: Allie Baker & Dena Giggie
This position will liaise between the Wait Until 8th organization and the Sprague community and organize Pledge drives to increase Sprague participation. This individual will work closely with presidents, communications, and other WPS PTOs on event content and serve as a guide for Wait Until 8th grade representatives.

Procures Sprague Spirit gear for sale at school events and distributes order to parents.
Garden Masters/ Green Team: Lauren & AJ Grignaffini-Morris

Coordinates Sprague Garden maintenance, including clean-ups, planting, and harvesting. Coordinates with Sprague staff to implement environmentally-friendly programs and processes. Learn more.
